Sculptural assemblage using found objects from the California coast — driftwood, rusted metal, fragments of fishing net. The horizon line is literal here: a strip of bleached wood that runs the width of the piece, dividing the chaotic lower section from the quiet upper field. I'm interested in how we read landscape through accumulation and erosion. This is the seventh in a series exploring the same formal problem; each one gets more stripped down.

This piece came from a series I started after returning from Oaxaca. The lower left quadrant — the area you asked about — was the last thing I painted. I hope it finds a good home.
